Saturday...

...morning we were out grocery shopping. I was wearing one of the Tokens and, for the first time, someone noticed it and said, "I like your button." I replied with a thank you and continued to shop. That's when my lady love turned to me and said, "Hey, aren't you suppose to pass that on?" I guess I was in shock, she was right, I had failed to do what I had intended with this project.

So, I hunted the guy down. I ended up finding him in the checkout line. I handed him the Token and pointed out the URL on the edge. I explained the idea of the project and asked if he would be willing to wear it and pass it on. While annoying the clerk, we continued to talk. He said he noticed it because he was a "button guy" and that he would definitely pass it on. I thanked him, introduced myself, and shook his hand.

Thanks Tom. I'm looking forward to your Token Tracker form to come in.

Love...

...Everybody.

"Love Everybody" The Presidents of the United States of America

You gotta love everybody, make 'em feel good about themselves
You gotta love everybody, make 'em feel good about themselves
(You Got To!) love everybody tonite!
You gotta love everybody tonite!
You gotta love everybody, make 'em feel good about themselves

Sally could barely rally, she livin' in cardboard alley,
Convinced she was doin' fine
Burt was a millionaire, sellin' that spray-on hair
Sippin' Californee wine

She was hardly handling and panhandling
Off-times she was squeezing out a dime at a time
From his limousine he could see beauty underneath the dirt
And this is what it said on the sign!

It said You gotta love everybody, make 'em feel good about themselves
You gotta love everybody, make 'em feel good about themselves
(You Got To!) love everybody tonite!
You gotta love everybody tonite!
You gotta love everybody, make 'em feel good about themselves

Bree was worth billions, she was killingly beautiful
A diamond with the venomous charm
Harvey was starving, carving tattoos on the punks,
Called himself "DaVinci of arms"

She was high on twinkies when she pulled in thinking
She could just get in and out, convenience is bliss
By the flash on the wall, she seemed twenty feet tall
And this is what he put on her fist!

It said You gotta love everybody, make 'em feel good about themselves
You gotta love everybody, make 'em feel good about themselves (yeah!)
You gotta love everybody
love everybody
love everybody
love everybody
love everybody
love everybody
love everybody
love everybody
love everybody
love everybody
love everybody
love everybody toniiiiiiiiiiiiite...tonite!

Love everybody tonite!

This Is A New One...

As you've noticed, if you read these blog entries, I've kept people's names and contact info out of the posts. So, whoever passed this Token on at the bar, fill out the Tracker!!! Remember, there are two reasons to fill out the Tracker. One, when you receive a Token and two, when you pass one on. The Tracker information above is only half the story. I'm really looking for the perspective of each side of the connection.

Anyway, keep it up people! Love to open my email and get these submissions.

It's Been Awhile...

...since I've written to the Blog. I apologize, especially when there have been events in our world that need a little bit of love.

I will be recommitting myself to this project, and others, so the idea of unconditional love can continue to spread.

Remember, if you have a Token, share it. Otherwise, be on the lookout for more opportunities to Find one.

"Think of...

...unconditional love as an action more than a feeling. We usually consider love to be a feeling, but feelings are a response to something we “get” from someone or something. Therefore, feelings are conditional.

  • Unconditional love is the action, the choice to strive for the well-being of another. The feeling you derive from acting with love is your reward, the return you “get” from your own action.

  • To love unconditionally is to act with love under all conditions.

  • If you have to do something, or be a certain way, in order to receive love, that love is conditional. If it is given to you freely and without reservation, it is unconditional."

There's Been...

...some sad goings on in my life.

Token distribution has halted for the time being, it would start up again shortly. Sometimes there's more important things in life than a social experiment. But, there isn't anything more important than love.

If you have a Token, share it.

Two...

...in one day!!!

Two people filled out the Token Tracker. There was this one...

...then this one...

...which is the first one found outside of Oregon.

When I get the notifications that the Token Tracker was filled out, it lifts my spirit. Thank you to these two wonderful cultivators. Please, don't forget to pass it on and remind that person to pass it on too. Find It. Wear It. Share It.

Punk Music...

...is sort of my thing.

And when it comes to punk music, Bad Religion is my favorite. If you don't know, this...

...is their brand/graphic identity. Yes, it's suppose to upset christians...it was the 80's. The religious right was asserting itself and it was the prefect thing for a punk band to rail against. Anyway, it the style of above image I created this...

...which delights me to no end, which is also why I posted it to Instagram and Facebook. I understand it's not as iconic, in the punk scene anyway, as the original but I hope that one day the Token symbol will be as well known.

Metrics...

...are an interesting thing.

I've been checking the metics on the website lately. Not a lot to report but, the good news is, there has been a steady amount of people checking it out. Of course one day I hope to be surprised by a surge of activity. With only 37 Tokens out there I really can't expect a stampede, can I?

Made a short list of local people I want to send a Token to, or put one in their hands. That, and I've been thinking of ways to drop larger amounts of Tokens at places. This two or three, here and there, isn't cutting it so far. Yes, yes, I know. I'm starting slow on purpose. Believe me, I have to keep reminding myself.

Another First...

...for this little experiment.

Last night someone passed on a Token. When I checked the Token Tracker database this morning I was pleased to see someone had used it. Not a whole lot of information provided but, that's okay. Just simply, "I was at dance practice and my friend asked about it (:" That's all I really need to know. So, now I have the first "find it" of the project and the first "share it" now too.

Keep it going people. I'll get more Tokens out there soon, I promise. Find It. Wear It. Share It.

"Made Your Day?

This just made mine!"

Today I had contact with the first finder...

...I was completely excited and happy to see this, this morning. So, I replied...

...which let to a return reply (above).

So, one. Which is good, because it's the first. There are currently 14 Tokens out in the world so, one out of 14 isn't a bad start at all.

Oh, hey, people in Green Bay, Wisconsin! I believe there are some Tokens heading your way. Find It. Wear It. Share It.
